I'm from Minnesota so I have the Upper Midwest accent. Pretty flat with a tendency to say o's longer. Like "Minnesooota" haha. If you've ever seen the movie, Fargo, it's kind of like that. Even though the movie is very stereotypical and I'm not that bad! Besides, Fargo's in North Dakota... Anyways, I'm moving to central Mississippi for a job offer. People have been saying that I'll end up coming back north to visit with a Southern Drawl. I don't plan to try to pick up a Southern accent, but I'm not going to purposely avoid it either. Mainly because I'm not actually a Southerner! Right now I'm living in California. I try to avoid the long o-sounding Minnesotan accent. It's all in good fun but my co-workers like to make fun of me for it. So what do you think will happen with a Midwestern girl living in the South?
